Westmead provides a flexible and comfortable home that can support seven people. Each person has their own individual flat, moulded to their single set of needs and individual support.
At Westmead, people with high support needs live and integrate successfully in a community based setting.
The Bridge Westmead is on a quiet residential estate in Castleford, West Yorkshire. The setting is comfortable and relaxing, with flexible and spacious individual accommodation to help people live successfully in the local community.
There are four apartments and five bungalows, offering individual, self-contained living for seven people in total. Each home has its own front door, and offers a minimum of two bedrooms, a lounge, separate kitchen and bathrooms offering a combination of bath, wet room or both.
Additional bedrooms can be adapted to form multi-sensory spaces, or tailored for day time activities that aid practical skills development and compliment community based resources.
As part of our environmental assessment, each home can be adapted to meet an individual’s requirements. This allows each person to live in a safe and considered environment that meets their personal circumstances and preferences.
There are lawned gardens to the front of the property and an enclosed garden to the rear. There is also ample parking, as well as separate office and staff areas, and shared meeting spaces for the people we support and our team.
We have a wealth of experience in supporting individuals with uniquely complex and challenging support needs that require a fresh approach. The management team are all CITRUS trainers. Combined with our BILD accredited support model, and PBS practitioners, we strive to enable, stabilise, improve and exceed expectations for the people we support.
The Bridge Westmead is set towards the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. It’s a calm and tranquil environment with low levels of passing traffic and noise. The local community is on the doorstep, with adjacent Queens Park Drive offering a direct bus route into nearby Wakefield and Castleford. In fact, it’s only one mile to Castleford town centre with local shops and supermarkets.
There are GP surgeries, dentists and opticians within walking distance and the District Hospital is within two miles. Nearby Xscape offers a trampoline park, cinema and snowzone, as well as shopping facilities. The M62 and A1 motorways are within easy reach and Wakefield Westgate and Castleford trains stations are only a short drive away.
