At Wesley Place, people with high support needs live and integrate successfully in a community based setting.
Individuals and families will be consulted about ways of accessing the community that are meaningful to each person at Wesley Place and we will facilitate this to the greatest extent possible. The community location of the home facilitates this to a large extent as outlined below:
The Bridge_Wesley Place is set on George Street in Snaith, a short walk from the town centre and local amenities. Snaith is an attractive market town with a friendly community feel.
Wesley Place was formerly the local community centre and was built in 1848. The home sits in an area of conservation and is adjacent to the local Grade II listed Methodist church.
Each individual apartment has been created to retain the external character of the building but also create modern, flexible spacious accommodation to allow people to live successfully in the local community.
There are seven apartments, offering individual, self-contained living for seven people in total. Each home has its own front door with larger than average floorspace for one person to live in. This includes a minimum of one bedroom, a lounge, separate kitchen and a bathroom offering a combination of bath, wet room or both.
Additional bedrooms can be adapted to form multi-sensory spaces, or tailored for day time activities that aid practical skills development and compliment community based resources.
As part of our environmental assessment, each home can be adapted to meet an individual’s requirements. This allows each person to live in a safe and considered environment that meets their personal circumstances and preferences.
Each apartment has its own individual garden space, as well as a tarmac and lawned enclosed communal area to the rear. There is also ample parking, as well as separate office and staff areas, and shared meeting spaces for the people we support and our team.
We have a wealth of experience in supporting individuals with uniquely complex and challenging support needs that require a fresh approach. The management team are all CITRUS trainers. Combined with our BILD accredited support model, and PBS practitioners, we strive to enable, stabilise, improve and exceed expectations for the people we support.
Wesley Place offers both a peaceful and attractive home environment married with a nearby diverse range of community activities that are accessible to all, which was one of the factors that attracted us to this location.
Snaith high street offers a variety of shops, cafes and activities such as a dance centre, library and one stop service that can be reached within a 5 minute walk from the home. The wider local community is on the doorstep, with a train service directly into neighbouring Leeds or Wakefield.
To the rear of the building is the local church, and adjacent to this local allotments. It is a short walk to open countyside, within minutes offering numerous walks for varying abilities.
The M62 and A1 motorways are within easy reach taking you to the surrounding areas.
